Whatsapp has introduced a new feature for its beta testers. Which allows you to switch from video to voice calls directly. According to WABetaInfo, the new update is starting in the new Beta version of Messaging App 2.18.4 and it is currently only supporting Android Marshmallow and above devices.
According to the report, the latest Whatsapp beta update has a new button on the voice call screen. As mentioned above, it allows a user to switch from a voice call to a video call, without disconnecting the call.
Currently, users have to disconnect the call first to go from a voice call to a video call. In addition, in the report, it has been said that when going to a video call from a voice call, the receiver will be prompted by a notification that if they want to switch from a voice call to a video call. If the user rejects it, the ongoing voice call will continue.
According to some earlier reports, the company is also working on group voice calling and a group video calling feature. However, the new switching facility will not work for the group voice calls reportedly.
Although Whatsapp offers new features, the company has recently stopped supporting Windows Phone 8.0, BlackBerry 10, and Nokia S40 OS devices. The company said that they are no longer actively developing for these platforms and some facilities may stop working at any time.
